Water Fun

I had been wanting to take the kids to a sprinkler park all week since it was so lovely warm out :) But we didn't get there, so after their naps at my parents house today, I filled up some tubs with water to let them play in it. They had a pretty good time, but didn't get as wet as I anticipated! I am sure it will happen again many times this summer, as the farm seems to be our summer home!

Fun and Crazy Times!!

So it has been pretty crazy in my house the last week or so. Well, it is always crazy (as my blog clearly says!!) But lately it has been a little bit more so. Don is playing with the monkeys and the snakes in the Amazon in Brazil (on a trip with our church) so we have been missing him. And for the past few days I have had three kids instead of two. I got to keep my cousin Christine, since her mom is also playing with the monkeys and snakes, and her father decided to take the rest of her family camping/hiking, and he wasn't sure she would like it very much yet. So anyways, it has been fun/crazy at my house! I have learned many things from having 2 three year olds, such as everything must be the same for each of them, 'I want the red cup, no I want the red cup'....Oh how fun! They have been playing fairly well together for the most parts. Obviously there are some whining times, but that comes with kids! Donny thinks it is quite fun to have someone else sleeping in his room!

Hannah has discovered how to go up the stairs, and is very good at it, now to teach her to go down.....

Hannah is not quite sure why someone else is in our house all the time these past fews. She really wasn't sure why she was in the bath tub with her and Donny. She gave me a look as if to say, mom, she is taking up all the room, please get rid of her!

Like I said, they get along well, but not all of the time, as the last picture clearly shows!!

Out with the old, In with the New!!

Well Hannah finally is starting to give up the scooting, and moving to walking! Walking is now her first mode of getting around, she will still scoot once in awhile, but we don't get to see if very much anymore. She is very good with the walking, pretty steady, and can get up and down on her own quite well. Notice she is clinging to a hairbrush in the video of her walking....wishful thinking....poor child! And if you have sound, you will hear her begin to communicate how she does quite often....crying/whining! Can't wait for her to talk so she can actually tell me what she wants. I know I will regret saying that some day, but not today!

Catching Up!

Well, it has been awhile once again since I have posted anything. Life is busy as usual. We haven't been doing too many exciting things, however, we did take a little trip to visit some family in Kansas over Memorial Day weekend. The kids did great on the drive, my two oldest nieces went with me to help entertain them! Donny found a frog (or toad) while we were there, I wasn't sure he was going to be able to leave it there. He is not afraid of animals, bugs, spiders, anything that moves really! Loves them all. Before we left for Kansas, we were finally able to get the garden planted at my parents house. Hannah was good at making sure the dirt was good enough quality to plant the seeds in!

This past week the kids and I have been at the farm every afternoon helping the girls start to get their calves ready for the fair. We only have 2 1/2 weeks before our first small show. That is pretty much how we spend our summer. At the farm. In the garden, or in the barn!

On Saturday we took a little picnic and did a little walking at a nature preserve in the area. It was fun, although we didn't time it very well and miss Hannah was getting quite tired by the end!

Hannah loves walking all the time, and this past week finally got brave enough to let go and walk on her own! She is still not super steady yet, but she is working on it! Scooting is her preferred method of travel still at this point, but I think soon it will be running! Fun times ahead!

Random Thoughts

I took some pictures of Hannah in a couple dresses I had when I was little. I was going to put pictures of me in the dresses to see if she looked like me, but when I looked at my picture book, I discovered that even when she is wearing my clothes she still looks like her father!! I was a little younger then she is when I had the dresses on, so it really wasn't the best comparison. There are a very few pictures that if you squint just right she maybe looks like me a little! She is adorable whoever she looks like!!

Her favorite thing to do right now is walk. Holding on to anything. She loves this pink stroller/walker thing she got for her bday, and she walks along the furniture, the walls, and loves to hold our hands and walk. She is finally figuring out how to pull up on her own as well. She is still scooting on her bottom, doesn't want to crawl. She is a bit behind on all that I realize. But we decided to keep her anyways!!

Donny is getting bigger and older everyday. I have been noticing that all his pants are getting too short, thanks goodness for garage sale season!! He comes up with some pretty funny stuff to tell us all the time. He is being a very polite little man most of the time. That is fun to see! Oh, you do pay attention when I tell you the same thing 100 times!! He is very sweet and caring towards his sister. It just warms my heart. He loves it when she gets up from her nap. He will often jump around the room shouting YEA...HANNAH's AWAKE!! It is very cute

We have been playing outside as much as possible lately. This morning he "helped" me plant a few flowers and a couple tomato plants. We have alot of work to do on the front of our house landscaping wise, and I can't wait to get that down! We had some lovely bushes out front that we dug out last summer, and are still working on getting all the rock out so we can plant something different. I will hopefully have pictures soon of the completed project. Well, at least by the end of the summer maybe? We don't get things done very fast around here! Thats all for this time!

Discovery Museum

The other day it was cold and rainy so I took the kids to the discovery museum in town. I have had a couple free passes for awhile, and was waiting for the "right" day to use them :) Once again, everyone else in town thought it was a good day to do what I was doing!! I should have known better since it is the end of the school year. There were about 4 or 5 field trips there. Kids everywhere! But since I had never been there, I don't know if that is how it always is!

Donny gets overwhelmed easily by alot of people and things, so I was worried he wasn't going to be able to have fun with so much going on. Thankfully he proved me wrong! He had a blast. I had to drag him from place to place because I wanted to make sure to see everything so I could decide if we wanted to come back sometime. He could have spent hours at each exhibit! We didn't even play with everything, and we were there for 3 hours (about the max amount of time any of us could last!)

Hannah was having fun until she banged her head on one of the tables, and then I just held her in my Hip Hammock the rest of the time. She wanted to take a nap, but it was so loud! I think we may make a return trip someone when we are bored again, just hopefully not when there are twenty million field trips!

Day at the Park

Well, I have not been the best blogger lately. Sorry about that. We have been quite busy as usual, a lot of boring every day stuff, but some fun stuff as well.

We went to the park with my nieces a couple weeks ago, and so did the rest of the town. There were 5 school buses there that day, and the parking lot was full of minivans! It was the first nice day in quite awhile, so we all just had the same idea.

We attempted to get a new pic of all the grandkids on my side of the family, but we didn't really get one that turned out very well. Mainly because Hannah was not really wanting her picture taken! They all had a great time running around and playing!

I included the picture of my niece Maggie sitting with Donny because you don't see them sitting nicely by each other very often! Donny gladly (well mostly gladly) takes orders from and does whatever the other three girls say, but for some reason he doesn't think he should pay attention to poor Maggie. So he is usually whining at her! Which he did right after I took this picture!
